1. About Us
These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to all package travel, linked travel arrangements and related services booked through CEYLON ON MY TERMS ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Ceylon on my terms.

2. Scope — What Counts as a "Package"
Under the Swedish Package Travel Act (paketreselagen 2018:1217), which implements EU Directive 2015/2302, a "package" is a combination of at least two different types of travel services (e.g. accommodation, transport, guided tours or other tourist services) that we combine for the same trip and sell or charge for at an inclusive or total price, or market or book as a "package".
Most bookings made through our packages, planning tool and wedding/honeymoon, medical/wellness and gem/jewellery consultations fall under this definition and are therefore covered by these Terms and by the individual travel guarantee we have lodged with Kammarkollegiet.
If you book only a single, standalone service (e.g. a flight only, not combined with anything else), package travel protection — including the travel guarantee — may not apply. We will inform you clearly at the point of booking whether a given purchase constitutes a package.
3. Booking and Contract Formation
- A binding contract is formed when we confirm your booking in writing (by email or through your account) and, where applicable, receive your deposit.
- You must check the confirmation immediately and notify us at once of any errors. Names must exactly match travel documents.
- The lead booker confirms they have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of all travellers in the booking and is responsible for all payments for the whole booking.
- Before you book, we provide the pre-contractual information required under the Package Travel Act: itinerary and destination, transport and accommodation details, meal plan, any minimum group size and associated cancellation deadline, passport/visa/health information relevant to Nordic citizens, and the price including all mandatory charges.
4. Prices and Payment
4.1 Standard Packages
- Deposit: 40 % of the trip price, on average due 30 days before departure (or at booking if booking within 30 days of departure).
- Final payment: 60 % due 14 days before departure.
- If full payment is not received by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you under Section 6.
4.2 Wedding/Honeymoon, Medical/Wellness and Gem/Jewellery Trips
These are consultation-based packages with an individual price proposal. The final price is agreed individually with you and is not fixed in advance.
| Product | Deposit at booking | Final payment |
|---|---|---|
| Wedding/Honeymoon trips | Approx. SEK 12,000 (varies by budget/venue) | 14 days before arrival |
| Medical/Wellness trips | SEK 2,500 | 14 days before arrival |
| Gem/Jewellery trips | SEK 2,500 | 14 days before arrival |
The deposit secures your booking slot and consultation. It is non-refundable except as provided in Section 6 and is deducted from the final price once agreed.
4.3 Payment Methods
We accept Visa, Klarna and Swish. Card and Klarna payments are processed by our payment service providers under their own terms and applicable Strong Customer Authentication requirements (PSD2). We do not store full card numbers.
4.4 Price Increases After Booking
We may increase the price after booking only where our contract with you expressly reserves this right and only to reflect: (a) cost of fuel or other energy sources for transport; (b) taxes or charges imposed by third parties for included services; or (c) exchange rates relevant to the package. We will show how the revised price has been calculated. Price increases may be made no later than 20 days before departure. If an increase exceeds 8 % of the total price, you may accept the increase, accept a substitute package if we offer one, or terminate the contract and receive a full refund. If our costs decrease, you are entitled to a corresponding price reduction.
5. Changes to Your Package Before Departure
If we need to make a significant change to an essential element of your package before departure (e.g. a substantially different destination, different dates or a different accommodation standard), we will inform you as soon as possible. You may then, within a reasonable period we specify: accept the change; accept a substitute package of equivalent or higher quality if we offer one; or terminate the contract and receive a full refund without a cancellation charge. Minor changes (e.g. a different hotel of equivalent standard or minor itinerary adjustments) do not give rise to these rights, but we will always inform you of them.
6. Your Right to Cancel
You may cancel at any time before departure. Because a package involves us committing costs well in advance on your behalf, a reasonable cancellation charge applies. The charge is calculated based on how close to departure the cancellation is made and the costs and losses we can reasonably demonstrate:
| Notice before arrival | Charge |
|---|---|
| 30 days or more | Administrative fee of SEK 1,100; remainder refunded |
| 15–30 days | 25 % of total price + SEK 1,100; remainder refunded |
| 7–14 days | 50 % of total price + SEK 1,100; remainder refunded |
| Less than 7 days or no-show | 100 % of total price — no refund |
These levels are indicative. The charge must in each case be reasonable and reflect our likely cost savings and any re-sale value under the Package Travel Act. You may cancel without charge if unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances occur at or in the immediate vicinity of the destination and significantly affect the package or transport (e.g. serious security incidents, natural disasters or an official travel advisory against visiting the area). You also have the right to transfer your booking to another person who meets the same conditions, without any charge other than our and our suppliers' reasonable transfer costs, provided you notify us in writing with reasonable notice (at least 7 days) before departure.
7. Cancellation or Changes by Us
We will only cancel a package for reasons other than your failure to meet your obligations where: (a) the minimum number of participants required for the package is not reached and we notify you within the deadline stated at booking; or (b) unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances prevent us from performing the contract. In both cases you receive a full refund and no cancellation charge. If we cancel for any other reason, you are additionally entitled to compensation for demonstrated losses, unless an exemption under the Package Travel Act applies.
8. Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances (Force Majeure)
Neither party is liable for failure to perform the contract caused by circumstances beyond their reasonable control which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken — including natural disasters, war, terrorism, epidemic/pandemic restrictions and significant travel advisories. When such circumstances affect performance, the consequences in Sections 6 and 7 apply instead of a claim for damages.
9. Travel Guarantee
As a package travel organiser established in Sweden, we have lodged an individual travel guarantee with Kammarkollegiet. The guarantee is sized and reported based on our annual estimate and protects the payments you make to us and, where applicable, your repatriation in the event of our insolvency.
If we become insolvent and are unable to perform a booked package, you (or Kammarkollegiet directly) may make a claim under the guarantee. Kammarkollegiet contact: Birger Jarlsgatan 16, 114 34 Stockholm · +46 (0)8-700 08 00 · registratur@kammarkollegiet.se.
10. Our Liability and Your Right to Complain
We are responsible for proper performance of all travel services included in your package contract, even when those services are performed by our local partners (including our ground-handler in Sri Lanka) and not directly by us. If a service is not performed in accordance with the contract, you must notify us (or our local representative) without undue delay so we can remedy the failure, for example by providing a suitable alternative at no extra cost. If the problem is significant and cannot be resolved, you may be entitled to a price reduction, compensation for demonstrated losses and, in serious cases, early repatriation at no extra cost.
Complaints during the trip: Contact us or our local representative immediately so we can assist directly.
Complaints after the trip: Email ceylononmyterms@gmail.com with your booking reference within a reasonable time — at the latest two months after your return.
If we cannot resolve a complaint together, Swedish consumers may refer it free of charge to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, arn.se, or use the EU's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
11. Passport, Visa and Health Requirements
You are responsible for having a valid passport and any visas or entry authorisations (including Sri Lanka's ETA) required for your nationality before departure, and for checking any health and vaccination recommendations. We provide general guidance for Nordic passport holders at booking, but requirements can change and you should verify them with the relevant embassy or official source close to your departure date. We are not liable for costs or losses arising from your failure to hold the correct documents.
12. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend you take out comprehensive travel insurance from the date of booking, covering at least medical expenses and repatriation, cancellation and baggage. Travel insurance is not included in our package prices unless expressly stated.
13. Right of Withdrawal
Package travel contracts covering specific dates or execution periods are exempt from the general 14-day right of withdrawal under the Distance Contracts Act (distansavtalslagen), in accordance with Article 16(l) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive. Once a booking is confirmed, your right to exit the contract is governed by Section 6 (Your Right to Cancel) above.
14. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with GDPR and our Privacy Policy. By booking, you confirm that we may share necessary booking details with our ground-handler in Sri Lanka and other suppliers only to the extent required to deliver your trip.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the Package Travel Act and EU law apply regardless of any choice of law for consumers habitually resident in the EU/EEA. Disputes should first be raised directly with us. Unresolved consumer disputes may be referred to ARN or Swedish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have to bring proceedings in your own country of residence.
